Drum Roll, Please…!

Hello Friends of Coastal Heritage Society!

This is a very exciting time for our team and our beautiful city.

Savannah Children’s Museum’s Exploration Station, is opening this year! We’ve started the major infrastructure project and would love for you to follow us closely on this adventure. The behind-the-scenes blog is called, appropriately, Diary of a Museum: The Story of Savannah Children’s Museum. Click here to follow that blog…

With so much going on, News from the Pond, our popular family blog, is getting a facelift and a new author. Recently Miss Rebecca accepted a position as a middle school guidance counselor in Beaufort, SC. We at CHS support her decision and are grateful for Rebecca’s contributions to the Society and the Children’s Museum project. We look forward to seeing Rebecca at CHS events and at Exploration Station.

I’m excited to announce that Liz Comparetto, a long time supporter of CHS, veteran teacher, mom to an adorable preschooler, lover of books, social butterfly extraordinaire and creative guru has recently joined our team as Manager of Children’s Education. Liz has taken on this exciting new role and has already helped refine two key exhibit areas for Exploration Station.

You’ll be receiving her first blog post this week and can easily interact with her via the Savannah Children’s Museum Facebook page and Pinterest account, as well as in person at Coastal Heritage Society events. Liz will be onhand next month at Old Fort Jackson’s annual Family Campover – more info to come soon.

I apologize for the lack of posts to this blog, but as you can see we’ve been busy planning, researching, building and transitioning.

On a personal note, I want to thank each of you for your continued support of Savannah Children’s Museum. From dream, to concept to blueprints and now a work-in-progress, Savannah Children’s Museum, phase 1: Exploration Station, is right around the corner. I can’t wait to announce an opening date!

Finally. A call for a drum roll, please…………. Our LOGO!

Stay tuned, stay inspired, stay excited!
